Who's for the dreaded drop?

Gary Croft  (Blackburn)

How difficult has it been in the Premiership this season?

"The standard's really high at the moment. There are so many good players and no team is week these days. Every week you come up against players that can do damage to you if your concentration slips for a second so you have to be very sharp."

So why have you struggled?

"It's been a combination of a few things. We've had a lot of injuries and picked up quite a few suspensions. We also had a bad start to the season and it's so hard to recover from that. Getting points on the board early is the key to survival."

What about on a personal level?

"I've had an up and down year and I never seemed to get a good run going. I'd play a few games, sit out a few and then come in again. Recently I was enjoying a good run in the side but I dislocated my shoulder and I'll be out for another week."

What will you need to avoid the drop?

"It's simple. We need to win four more games and we'll be safe. We also need to concentrate on making sure we don't lose silly games. People may say a point isn't enough in our position but at the end of the season, it may be a point that keeps us up."

What do you make of your run-in?

"We're playing quite a few of the teams around us. If you looked at the games we had left at the start of the season, we would've thought it was a good run-in for us. But just because our position isn't good, it shouldn't mean we think any differently."

If you went down, how hard would it be to get back up?

"Yes, without a doubt. I truly believe we'd bounce back up in our first season. With the personnel and the ability the players have here, we would definetely come straight back up. But that's not something we're thinking about."
